Through the years, The Battis, the alley that runs alongside Romford Station towards Waterloo Road, has had a reputation for the amount of people attacked while walking down there. Nobody is safe, day or night. Though fewer people in recent years have become victims there in the last few years. Many assaults haven't even had the motive of robbery.....................................................
Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a local 25 year old male in the early hours of Saturday the 4th of October 2008.
Police were called to a badly injured man lying unconscious in the street in The Battis, off South Street, at 1:30am.
The man had received serious facial injuries, and was treated in the street by ambulance crews before he was taken to Queens hospital, he has no recollection of the events leading up to or during the attack on him, however CCTV has been collected from the area and after many hours of searching through footage of the evening the attack has been caught.
The footage shows two males with the victim the main suspect punches the victim directly in the face several times, the other man with him also hits the victim who falls to the floor before the suspect can be seen kicking out at him as he lay unconscious.
Suspect details:
A white male, slim build, aged between 20 – 30 years with a black V neck sweater with a white top underneath wearing jeans and trainers.
