CURTAIN CALL by Bettine Manktelow
Following the great success of Curtain Up On Murder in 2003, the Wesley Players are delighted to present another comedy by the celebrated author, Bettine Manktelow.
The Thurlow Playhouse is desperate for money – the roof leaks, and receipts are none too good, particularly from the local amateur productions! Alec, the Theatre Manager, is awaiting a visit from the Arts Council about a grant, whilst trying to cope with a highly strung amateur director, a secretary with “personal problems”, an awkward Front of House manager, a rebellious stage crew, and the chairman of the Theatre Trust whose ideas on negotiation are not far removed from those of Attila the Hun. Can his day get any worse....?
A modern comedy of manners, or the lack of, that will tickle all of your funny bones.
Performances at 8.00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 15 to 17 May 2008 at the Wesley Hall, Hall Lane, Upminster. Tickets priced at £6 (concessions £4.50, children £3) to include refreshments and programme, available on the door. Tickets may also be reserved in advance by phone 01708 222284, or email tickets@wesley-players.co.uk. Senior citizens admitted free on Thursday evening.....
