Romford FC find a new home

Following the recent disappointment of the information that Ford Sports were unable to renew our lease, the club is pleased to announce that a groundshare deal has been reached with Aveley Football Club.

Chairman Steve Gardener stated that he felt this was the best deal for club based on both financial and geographical issues. He hoped supporters would view the move as a positive, and vowed to increase the support for next year, despite playing out of the Borough.

Aveley officials listened to our plight and were very sympathetic. As well as the usual groundshare arrangements there are advertising opportunities at the ground and all money from the tea bar will be ours.

It was clear from our first meeting that this was going to be as much a partnership as a groundshare, and we are already exploring ways to promote both clubs.

Our supporters have always followed us, and to further places than Aveley. We have been given full use of all facilities on site and have the opportunity for home pre season friendlies; something we have not had for a few years.

Gardener went on to thank the other local clubs who had offered assistance and advice over the last week.
