Comedy Club at the Queen's Theatre

A rib-tickling trio of top comedians will play the Queen’s Theatre’s Comedy Club in the Foyer on Thursday 22 May at 8.30pm.

Leading acts Ron Vaudry, John Gordillo and Tom Wrigglesworth go for the giggles with side-splitting stand-up to really liven up a spring evening.

Dry-witted Canadian funny-man Ron Vaudry is fast becoming a forerunner on the comedy circuit. His first gig consisted of cramming 12 sets into one day in a small Montreal club on Labour Day weekend in 1979 – and he hasn’t looked back since! Ron is now a master of hard-hitting hilarious social and political satire and has performed on television shows in Canada, the US and the UK and at comedy festivals around the globe.

John Gordillo has carved out a name for himself as an adventurous master of mirth, described in the London Lite as “brilliantly intelligent, often inappropriate.” He is returning to stand-up after a six-year break during which he hosted and co-created a nightly BBC3 talk show – The RDA with John Gordillo - and directed several live comedy shows. He has also directed sketches for BBC and ITV and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Lanky Sheffield-born comedian Tom Wrigglesworth, 27, has been a stand-up since 2002 and is enjoying a run of successful gigs up and down the country. He won the 2003 ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ award in Edinburgh and is delighted at being asked back to every club he performs at!

“John Gordillo picks away relentlessly at his subjects to find fresh jokes, taking comedy away from tried-and-tested formula into more unexpected terrain…” Chortle

“Tom’s gangly stage presence and strong material means he’s definitely one to watch. His ten minutes flew by.” Last Laugh Comedy Club

Comedy Club in the Foyer takes place at the Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch, on Thursday 22 May at 8.30pm. Tickets cost £9 and concessions are £8.50. To book, call the Box Office on 01708 443333. For further information, visit www.queens-theatre.co.uk
