Queen’s Christmas pantomime is the cat’s whiskers!


 


It’s that time of year again, oh yes it is! The Queen’s Theatre invites everyone to join them on an exciting journey to the capital with Dick Whittington, the fun-packed, family pantomime for all ages, running from 29 November - 10 January.


 


Dick Whittington stars members of cut to the chase…, the Queen’s Theatre’s professional company of actor-musicians, who round off their 10th anniversary year with this magical, musical adventure.


It’s bursting at the seams with glitter and magic, song and dance, fun and laughter, stunning sets colourful costumes and lots of audience participation. There’s even a spectacular new 3D scene – the magic will literally jump off the stage!


 


Are the streets of London really paved with gold? Has Dick got what it takes to become the new Mayor of London and win the girl of his dreams? Dick and his loveable cat Tommy embark on an exciting adventure to find out! Join this intrepid pair on their thrilling quest for fame and fortune - travel to faraway kingdoms, laugh along with the hilarious dame Sarah the Cook, cheer along your brave hero Dick, boo the evil King Rat and get swept away by the enchanting Fairy Bow Bell’s magical fairy dust.


 


Written by Nicholas Pegg with music and lyrics by Carol Sloman, Dick Whittington is from the same team that brought you previous panto hits. The Queen’s Theatre has been producing top-quality, traditional pantomime for 55 years, so you can be sure boys, girls and grown-ups will all enjoy this Christmas staple, which mixes family entertainment with the sparkle of a West End show. It’s the best panto in town!


 


Dick Whittington features cut to the chase… company members Lindsay Ashworth as Dick Whittington, Sam Kordbacheh as Tommy the Cat, Chris MacDonnell as Sarah the Cook, Laura Penneycard as Fairy Bow Bells, Shaun Hennessy as the evil King Rat, Michelle Long as Alice Fitzwarren, Marcus Webb as Alderman Fitzwarren, Simon Jessop as Idle Jack and the Queen’s Musical Director Carol Sloman, Steve Simmonds and Allison Harding as musicians.


 


Dick Whittington is directed by Queen’s Theatre Artistic Director Bob Carlton, designed by Mark Walters, with musical direction by Carol Sloman, lighting by Matt Eagland, sound by Ed Clarke and choreography by Liz Marsh.
