Age Concern Havering offer free handy people
Age Concern Havering is running a Handyperson pilot scheme with funding provided by the Council's Supporting People Department available free for older people and people with disabilities, who own their own property and receive benefits. Clients only pay for materials.

‘Fitting grab rails, new shelving, fixing loose carpets or an overgrown bush, can be very worrying to an older person and also can become a fatal health and safety hazard’ said Jan Mountford Age Concern Havering’s Home Support Manager.

Age Concern Havering also has a list of vetted traders for those larger DIY jobs.
